Sylvia Wadsley, 21 – 28th September, 2019

The residency gave me the opportunity to observe the sea at close quarters over a prolonged period of time. Colours, movement and mood changed constantly and I found it very exciting to record such changes. The weather was rough and I loved observing and painting from the Juliet balcony. I was fascinated by the sea at night.

Recently I had a solo exhibition at Red Dot gallery, Painswick, Gloucectershire. My seascapes, in particular, were very well received and I was happy to sell ten paintings over a week. I had good footfall for the exhibition and I try to appeal to art collectors and people interested in climate change art. Through my exhibition I raised £100 for Friends of Earth.
