Rachel Sargent, 16 – 23 November, 2024
It was a great week. It was my second residency there so I knew what to expect, to some extent, but had forgotten how separate from everyday life it feels when you are there, so close to the elements. This gave an intensity to my observations and perceptions of things. A week was not long enough but I did manage to start studies and finish some work looking at the stream running down Cot Valley. I walked there every day and made monotype prints back in the studio and prepared papers to use in collage work.
I will be exhibiting the work I produced in my next exhibition in May during the Wylye Valley Art
Trail. I am also running workshops during the year, on Monotype printing, informed by the monotypes I made at Brisons Veor.
Approximately 400 will visit my exhibition during the art trail to see my work from my residency and possibly 20 -30 will attend my workshops.
