‘I spent a week in splendid isolation at Brison’s Veor working on gouache studies for my new series of oil paintings. It is a beautiful location, a lovely place to make temporary home and studio. I worked in the upstairs room with views of the sea and cliffs from all windows. It is a place where the changing weather has real impact and drama with the house lending itself easily to work and reflection.

I have returned to my studio in London invigorated and with new paintings under way. It was an enjoyable and productive experience being so far away from the city and so close to the elements.’
