Margaret Kerfoot and Ali Shipton, March 25 – 8 April, 2017
Two painters working in collaboration:
It was very productive, we drew every day and continued developing these studies in the evening. It was a significant time for both of us, developing individual work and are collaborative work. We began four large joint canvases.
Lessons learnt. Alison : To spend more time initially just looking and absorbing, to discover the context to which we are responding. To record EVERYTHING that grabs you, not to filter.
Margaret: Observe and feel the place. I strolled most mornings and looked. I was drawn to the hedge rows and the wild flowers, the hidden details, colours and space and sound.
We created a wealth of material from which to work. Fourteen excellent home cooked meals. Listening to some wonderful music from the BV cd collection
