I used the residency as a period of research into the history of plants that were imported into gardens in Cornwall. My primary activity was photographing and sketching in several historic gardens along my journey to Brisons Veor, as well a visiting a couple of them nearby (Trewidden and Tremenheere). I then spent most of my time there making ink and watercolour drawings/paintings from this research. This was a very generative process and I have lots of ideas to develop into a series of larger works back in my studio in London.
