JOANNA SIMS AND PHILIP LEEVERS – OCTOBER RESIDENCY
The weather was superbly calm for the time of year enabling us to make more outdoor work than expected, so we both made the most of the daytime light.
I used a new idea making small scale gouaches outside, or in the car if too windy, to transfer into oils in the studio. I made 19 of them and definitely gained terrific leaps through having to work much faster than usual.
Next year I will be showing work developed from these sketches in my local Art Trail and also offering work for sale to visiting collectors.
The Blackheath Gallery in London, where I have already exhibited, are interested to show my oils, when I develop larger scale work.
My longed-for and difficult changeover of medium: pastels to oils, has been improved. Working at Brisons Veor catalyzes me into taking more risks.
