Having 3 weeks at Brison’s gave me the opportunity to be fairly relaxed about getting started and finding my creativity. I wanted to make some completely new work so was open to influences from the place.

(As it turned out) I had a really good 3 weeks of walking, visiting places, isolation and working. I have started about 30 small paintings that I hope will get completed over the winter months.

(And I learned that)   1) Ideas aren’t always a good thing. 2) Frustration and failure leads to better work 3) Always be prepared to destroy what initially looks good. 4) Sitting and looking out the window can be very creatively productive.
