Eleanor Almond and Deborah Pugh, 6 – 13 April, 2024

Elaine Almond: acrylics, Deborah Pugh: watercolour.

Had a really productive time, wasn’t sure what would emerge but completed 9 paintings for my next show in early May, plus time to write a first blog about the week, experiment with charcoal and inks on paper – not new but I scaled up and used seaweed and other bits from the beach as tools. I also experimented with mono-printing and loved that.
It worked for me as I tend to work in bursts of energy – just confirmed it.
I tussle between painting land and sea – the sea is mesmerising and I loved it.
I can do more than I think.
It clarified some aspects of my process of abstracting the sea/landscape.
