I have been working on a project about wetlands, watersheds and places where water and land meet. I wanted to expand my research to observe the forces of ocean and wind and their effect on seemingly fixed locations, and collect imagery of coastal erosion. I took photos and video of surf, rock and shoreline around Brisons Veor. Despite high winds, fog and rain and the challenge of hauling my camera and tripod up and down this vertical landscape, I did manage to take some good footage for a future body of work about erosion, impermanance and the ephemeral coast. I also edited videos from my accumulated archive of water videos and began designing an installation of video stills, incorporating footage of Cape Cornwall surf. I am grateful for the opportunity to record and experience this dramatic landscape.
