Georgina Hall, Annie Burrows, 6 – 19th August, 2022
The weather was extremely warm, so our inspiration came mainly from the surrounding rock pools. The proximity of the house to the sea enabled us to record on a daily basis. This was both wonderful and challenging, so it took a few days to focus on our joint aims!
The opportunity to draw directly from elements of the surroundings was one of the most rewarding parts of the residency. Having time and space for a close dialogue about our different practices, was also interesting and sometimes challenging. We prepared and made drawings on the copper plates, and now have a rich body of drawings and images to develop, and work from in the coming months.
Our plan is to make a collaborative collection of prints, from etchings on 12 copper plates which record sea plants, rock pools and the movement of water. http://www.annieburrows.com http://georginaprints.com
