The opportunity to experiment means you’re headed for a creative roller coaster. It was definitely that but with far more highs than lows and no total disasters. On the first evening I did a series of large gestural drawings to get the ball rolling. I was able to add to a group of large cyanotypes I have been working on and make two series of studies one with pastel and one with watercolour. From posts I made it was a small group of mixed media pieces I made on carrier bags from Surreal Succulents where I bought plants on my way out to the Cape. The bad weather on the final day allowed me to film a collection of clips of waves breaking that will be really useful in a film I am editing together.
